About Kimball Earthworks

Built on
Honest Work

Our Story

Rooted in
York County

Kimball Earthworks was built on a straightforward idea: show up when you say you will, do the work correctly the first time, and give people a price they can count on.

We are based at 1246 Alfred Rd in Arundel, right in the center of the county we serve. That matters. It means we know the roads, the soils, the wetlands, and the permit offices across all 28 York County towns. We're invested in the reputation we build here, because this is where we live and work.

York County is a demanding place to do site development. Soils shift from sandy coastal deposits near Kennebunk and Wells to heavy glacial till in Waterboro, Shapleigh, and the western hill towns. Spring mud season is real. Frost depth is 48 inches. These aren't abstract facts, they shape every project we plan and every estimate we write.

We handle land clearing, site preparation, septic installation, culverts and drainage, retaining walls, and finish grading. We can take a raw lot from trees to build-ready, or come in for a single phase alongside your existing contractors. Either way: written estimate, clear timeline, crew that treats your property like it matters.

Our Values

How We
Operate

01

Written Estimates. Always.

Every project gets a written estimate covering full scope and pricing before work begins. No surprises on the invoice.

02

Permit Coordination Included

Maine DEP requirements, NRPA permits, shoreland zoning, local code enforcement, we identify what your project requires and manage the coordination.

03

Direct Communication

You work with us directly, not a dispatcher or subcontractor who's never seen your site. Real answers from people who know your project.

04

Built for Maine Conditions

Frost at 48 inches. Spring mud season. Variable soils from coastal sand to inland till. We design and build for these realities.

05

Full Scope, One Contractor

We can take a wooded lot all the way through clearing, site prep, septic, and finish grading, one estimate, one schedule, one accountable crew.

06

Site Restoration on Exit

We leave job sites clean, graded, topsoiled where needed, and ready for what comes next. Done means done.

Kimball Earthworks team

Our Team

The Same Team,
Every Project

When you hire Kimball Earthworks, the crew that shows up on day one is the same crew that finishes the job. We don't broker work to subcontractors we've never seen on a site. Our operators know our equipment, know our standards, and understand what a finished project looks like.

Family-owned businesses operate differently than large regional contractors. The name on the truck is the name on the line. That creates accountability that doesn't exist when work passes through layers of management and subcontracting.

We carry full liability insurance and coordinate with licensed master plumbers on all septic installations as required by Maine law. Every project is executed to Maine DEP standards.
